Apart from our monthly and special meetings, below are some other events for BBLHS members and friends during the year. 


Make a note in your diary now, and check back regularly for any updates and more details. 


Events are organised by different members and the contact in each case is included with the details.  We usually ask for pre-booking to make sure we don't exceed maximum numbers and we don't leave anyone behind! To ensure a punctual start, please aim to arrive 10-15 minutes before the published start time.

Bromley and Sheppard Colleges, London Road, Bromley

Wednesday 18th June - 1100 to 1230


A chance to join a guided tour round the Borough's premier Grade 1 listed property, dating back to 1666. Numbers are limited so early booking is advised.


Email Max to book and further details will be suppllied nearer the date. Please note there will be a charge of £5 to cover your end of tour refreshments and to help the College.


Orpington Parish Church  and `Canadian Corner', Bark Hart Road, BR6 0QD

Wednesday 9th July - 1030 to 1200


Following a recent talk about Commonwealth Graves, a guided tour of Orpington Parish Church followed by a visit to the `Canadian Corner' of the churchyard which contains 69 Commonwealth War Graves. 

  

All Saints Church is a blend of old and new, dating back to Saxon times, with an interesting and sympathetic 20th century extension. The 1950s extension was made on the site of the Bark Hart mansion which we will also learn about.

Lewisham Local History Society


This society meets monthly at St Dunstan’s Jubilee Pavilion, Canadian Avenue, Catford, SE6 4SW. Meetings are usually on the last Thursday of the month starting at 7.30 p.m and lasting 90 minutes.
