About BBLHS

Who we are and what we do

BBLHS was formed in 1974 so that those with an interest in the history of the people, events and places that make up London's largest borough could meet to exchange information and learn more about the long and fascinating story that makes up the London Borough of Bromley and all its constituent parts.

The OBJECTIVES of the Society are :

To promote interest in, and the study and preservation of, the history of the London Borough of Bromley and its predecessors.

Such history is defined as any event, object, document, building, area, individual or organisation which has at some time been located in or associated with the London Borough of Bromley or its predecessors.

This includes :

Anerley - Beckenham - Bickley - Biggin Hill - Bromley - Chelsfield - Chislehurst - Coney Hall - Cudham - Downe - Farnborough -
Green Street Green - Hayes - Keston - Leaves Green - Mottingham - Orpington - Penge - Petts Wood - St. Mary Cray - St. Paul’s Cray -
Shortlands - Sundridge Park - West Wickham.

Meetings :

We meet once a month from September to July, usually on the first Tuesday of the month.  See Activities for details of our meetings, where we meet and special events.
